See What the Garden Made This Summer!

On the first day back to schoolmy daughter Kūlia and I hosted
a lilikoi tasting. We wanted the students to appreciate that the
garden keeps producing over the summer and it provided a
miraculous, tasty treat for us all.
Another goal was to draw attention to the ripening process from flower to green fruit to purple fruit. We have a bit of an issue with students picking the green lilikoi and using them as playground equipment. I gathered a bin of old tennis balls and placed them near the garden gate to encourage us all to "honor the fruit"!

Our bountiful harvest
Lilikoi changes over time- please don't play catch with the green ones!
